New Fridjof Joensen art piece revealed
Fridjof Joensen art piece given as a donation to the museum
Today, the National Gallery of the Faroe Islands unveiled the piece 'Mother and Children' (1970) by artist Fridtjof Joensen. The statuette has very kindly been donated to the museum by Vár, Snæbjørn, Kári, Lív and Eyð on behalf of their parents, Ingrid and Steinbjørn B. Jacobsen, who wished for the piece to be part of the museum’s collection. Today, the 30th of September, also marks what would have been Steinbjørn B. Jacobsen’s 85th birthday.
We are very thankful for this beautiful donation which is now on display in the permanent exhibition at the museum.
