Family workshop 15 July: Come and build your dream house
Welcome to the ‘Dream Houses’ family workshop on Thursday 15 July. As a continuation of the exhibition ‘Home’, we are inviting children and adults to the museum to build small houses in fascinating shapes and materials.
What does your dream house look like? Does it look like the houses you can see around you? Is it square or circular? Is it a log cabin, a castle or maybe even a cave? Close your eyes and imagine what it feels like to be inside your dream home. Inspired by the works of Hanni Bjartalíð, we will take a closer look at dream houses and build our own ones. Like Hanni Bjartalíð, we will also use recycled materials and try our hand at constructing unusual houses in fantastic shapes. The workshop is a collaboration with Søs Uldall-Ekman from “Faroe Islands with Kids”.
The workshops will be on 15 July from 11 am to 15 pm and each workshop lasts 30 min. There will be room for 15 kids and adults at a time.
Times and duration of workshops:
Workshop 1: 11.15-11.45 am
Workshop 2: 12.00-12.30 pm
Workshop 3: 1.15-1.45 pm
Workshop 4: 2.00-2.30 pm
Workshop 5: 2.30-3.00 pm
Between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm chalk is available at reception for an outdoor activity. Randi Samsonsen’s works feature a selection of words which she associates with her childhood homes and her grandparents’ house. Can you find 10 things - smells, foods, clothes or anything else - that you associate with a place where you feel at home? We will chalk up all the things and homes outside the museum.
The workshops are free if you have a ticket to the museum. Admission is free for children and young people under the age of 20 and members with annual passes. Admission: Adults DKK 90, Pensioners DKK 70, Students DKK 25.
