Violinisturin Jón Festirstein byrjaði tónleikaleið sína á musikkskúlanum í Havn við Sámali Petersen sum lærara. Tók sína tónleikaútbúgving á Det Kgl. Danska Musikskonservatorium hjá armenska Serguei Azizian. Eftir eina tíð sum yrkistónleikari í Danmark, er hann komin heim at verða tónleikalærari og virkin tónleikari. Hann spælir við bólkinum Aldubáruni og fastur limur í Føroya Symfoniorkestri.
