Light and colors characterize the works of the artist Zacharias Heinesen, who over many years has earned an undeniable and significant place in Faroese art history. Although best known for his cubistic landscape paintings, Zacharias has experimented with many different materials and techniques, including graphic art, sculptures, and wooden collages.
The artist, who turns 90 on May 19, remains active and continues to develop artistically. In connection with Zacharias’ 90th birthday, a selection of works from different periods of his artistic career will be exhibited in the entrance hall of Listasavn Føroya.
The museum is organizing a celebration for Zacharias Heinesen on Wednesday, May 27 at 5 PM. The program will include speeches and music, and the museum will serve drinks and light refreshments.
To mark the occasion, the museum is releasing two new posters and six postcards featuring motifs by Zacharias Heinesen.
Everyone is warmly welcome.
