We are overjoyed!
The year 2021 saw a record number of visitors to the National Gallery of the Faroe Islands.
17.000 people visited the gallery from 1 January to 1 November, when it closed due to renovations.
This is a 36% increase in the number of visitors compared with the previous year, despite a limited number of foreign visitors, the COVID-19 pandemic, and domestic restrictions in the Faroe Islands. The number of Faroese people visiting the gallery grew by 90% compared with the previous two years. This progress overjoys us! We want to thank everyone who visited and thereby supported the National Gallery.
The growing number of visitors is one of the many joyful news you can read about in our annual report from 2021, which you can access on our website.
