Kærleikshondum báðum nær. Drúgva ferðin hjá Arne Haugen Sørensen
Fríggjadagin 21. august 2009 kl. 17.00 letur upp nýggj listaframsýning
í Listaskálanum. Tað er danin Arne Haugen Sørensen
(f. 1932), ið hevur framsýning við málningum og grafikki,
m.a. fleiri høvuðsverkum frá seinastu fáu áratíggjunum
og nýggjum verkum. Listfrøðingur savnsins, Ingeborg Bugge,
hevur í sambandi við framsýningina skrivað bók,
sum er á føroyskum, donskum og enskum og verður at fáa
til keyps á ferniseringini. Tá fer listfrøðingurin
eisini at greiða frá bókini og framsýningini.
Í nýggju bókini stendur m.a., at Arne Haugen Sørensen
hevur í longri enn eina hálva øld verið ein listamaður
á veg móti nýggjum støðum og nýggjum
kunnskapi. Og soleiðis er tað enn. Myndamálið mennist alla
tíðina, nýggj myndevni koma til, og tey gomlu verða viðgjørd
av nýggjum av hansara fjølbroyttu litfjøl. Eftir eina drúgva
ferð á fleiri ymiskum leiðum tykist Arne Haugen Sørensen
at standa andlit til andlits við náðigávu kærleikans
sum ta týdningarmestu íblástrarkelduna til listina í
dag.
Eftir at Grafiski Verkstaður Føroya í nøkur ár
hevur leigað hølið við norðurendan í Listaskálanum,
men nú er fluttur í nýggj høli niðri við
Skálatrøð, hevur Listasavn Føroya víðkað
skálan, so at hann nú eisini fevnir um hølið við
norðurendan. Sostatt er framsýningin við Arne Haugen Sørensen
tann fyrsta hjá Listasavni Føroya, ið fær nyttu av víðkaðu
karmunum.
Margrete Auken limur í EU-parlamentinum og prestur setir framsýningina.
Listamaðurin verður til staðar á ferniseringini.
Framsýningin letur aftur sunnudagin 18. oktobur 2009.

The two hands of love. Arne Haugen Sørensen’s long walk
There will be held a new exhibition at the art museum on Friday 21st August
2009 at 17.00 GMT. Arne Haugen Sørensen (b. 1932) will exhibit paintings
and graphic arts including some of his chief works from the last few decades
and new ones. As part of the exhibition our art historian, Ingeborg Bugge, has
written a book which is available in English, Faroese and Danish and is for
sale at the opening. The art historian will also introduce the book and the
exhibition at the opening.
For half a century Arne Haugen Sørensen has been a ground-breaking artist,
always seeking new knowledge and insights. And he is still going strong, moving
forward. His figurative language is developing all the time, new motifs are
constantly welcomed and old ones are formed in new ways – in the artist’s
colourful kaleidoscope. After a long walk, following different paths and directions,
Arne Haugen Sørensen seems to be facing love and the gift of grace as
the predominant source of inspiration in his art today.
In the occasion that the Faroese Graphical Workshop has been renting the northern
hall at The Faroe Islands Art Museum, but now has moved to a new hall down at
Skálatrøð, the museum has enlarged the main exhibition hall
so now it also includes the northern hall. Consequently Arne Haugen Sørensen’s
exhibition is the museum’s first to utilise the new extended hall.
Margrete Auken MEP and vicar will open the exhibition.
The artist will be present at the opening.
The exhibition will close on Sunday 18th October 2009.
